Who or what is the Meditation Cwtch?

Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.

Philosophy, art and ideas

Greetings and welcome to the blog.

Hi, I'm Adele and for those of you who are not familiar with my work, I am a fully qualified and certified mindfulness teacher. I have facilitated mindfulness-based workshops for several years now and I never anticipated delivering these workshops online. Since the pandemic, more of us are turning to philosophy and artistic adventures to help us during these unusual and unsettling times.

Last year I set up The Meditation Cwtch as an online meditation centre that delivers the highest quality educational workshops. We have two main focuses: firstly, meditation and mindfulness-based workshops; and secondly, artistic workshops that combine philosophy, art and ideas. These workshops are being kindly co-hosted by Something Less Boring and are designed to support your creative process. I decided to start this blog as a way of sharing information about what these workshops are about and what to expect if you decide to join one.

The Picasso quotation I refer to above, is a quotation I used to start a discussion during the first Winter Wellness workshop I delivered earlier in January. We all read quotations and formulate our own interpretations and my understanding of this quotation is that we are born free and playful (great for creativity!). However, as we grow up, many of us (temporarily, at least) lose that side to us due to a number of factors. These might include schooling, work, social pressures etc. But it doesn't mean that we can't reignite this creative side in us.

If you're interested in exploring how philosophy, art and ideas can help unlock your creativity, why not try one of our upcoming Winter Wellness workshops? They can be accessed via zoom and are bookable via the Something Less Boring website (you can also click on the image below).

The next workshop will be held on Saturday 20th February at 10am GMT. The theme will be Listening with the heart. During this session we will create individual 'mindscapes' - inspired by focussing on the heart and really listening to what it tells us. These are often very abstract and personal. But it's also fun and illuminating!

I look forward to my next blog post.
