Enhance your art techniques with our Skills workshop series. Our gentle and engaging online workshops cover a range of art techniques, including oil pastels, chalk pastels, charcoal, and oil painting. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, our workshops are designed to help you develop your skills in a fun and creative way. Join us today and discover the joy of creating art from the comfort of your own home. Sessions can be booked separately, but the first will introduce you to the techniques for the second. Sun 21st Jan 7pm - Introduction to Oil Pastels Sun 28th Jan 7pm - Oil Pastel Still Life Materials - Pastel Crayons (Faber Castel, Pentel, Cray Pas) Pastel or Cartridge Paper or Sketch Pad, vaseline, cotton buds, clean paintbrush Sun 4th Feb 7pm - Introduction to Chalk Pastels Sun 11th Feb 7pm - Chalk Pastel Still Life Materials - Chalk Pastels (Inscribe, Faber Castel, Derwent) Pastel or Cartridge Paper or Sketch Pad, natural or putty rubber, blending stump and sandpaper (we will make one in the session) cotton buds, kitchen towel, scissors or palette knife Sun 18th Feb 7pm - Introduction to Charcoal Sun 25th Feb 7pm - Charcoal Still Life Materials - Pastel or Cartridge Paper or Sketch Pad, Compressed charcoal sticks, white chalk, charcoal pencils (optional), cotton buds, kitchen towel, Putty or natural rubber Sun 3rd March 7pm - Introduction to Oil Paint (waterbased) Sun 10th March 7pm Oil Paint Still Life Materials - Oil paint brushes, Water mixable oil paints (Daler Rowney Georgian), oil pad and canvas About the tutor: Liddy is the creative force and main tutor with Something Less Boring, a qualified Illustrator and also a qualified teacher. After attaining her university degree in Illustration in 2005, Liddy then taught art for over 10 years at secondary school level before leaving to found Something Less Boring in 2017 with the aim of bringing art and sport to all ages regardless of ability in a fun, creative and inclusive way. Since April 2020 we estimate that she has taught close to 500 online art sessions In her own words: "From as long as I can remember I have always dreamt about being an artist and illustrator. My passion has always been for art and I have always enjoyed being creative. Some of my fondest childhood memories are those spent with my siblings creating stories, drawing illustrations and making books. I guess it was from here that a profound love for all things creative was born and nurtured."

Cancellation Policy. Standard - Allows transfer or cancellation 10 days before the course/workshop start date. Flexible - Allows cancellation up to 10 days before or transfer up to 24 hours before course/workshop start date Note - this does not apply to online events, bookings can be transferred up to 24 hours before the event starts Should Covid restrictions prevent the course from running, a full refund or transfer will be offered. Please arrive 10 minutes before the course start time
